The Anointing of Strongmen and the Loss of our Humanity

This morning it struck me hard: a very sad realization of how the world world is operating today. A tectonic realignment has commenced, and shows no signs of slow down in sight. Tectonic on a planetary scale, affecting even the smallest, the most remote of places. No country was spared. Not even the lovely, soon to be competitors to Iceland, the McDonald Islands, were spared. Is is a small group of Antarctic islands, uninhabited by homo sapiens, where currently small colonies of Aptenodytes Patagonicus, better known as King Penguins, love to bask in the warmth of a majestic, yet angry volcano , and call home. I suppose it is the DOGE and POTUS move to future proof and protect our great economy when the trade balance between us and those cute , goofy birds becomes unbearable.
But tariffs are just a manifestation of an ego-drama that is playing out on the geopolitical scene. What really caught my attention were three news items that show how we aim to score lower, and lower on the scale of morality.
