Medium.com: Broad topics, Great writers, Fun reading for all
Your personal on-line publishing outlet to help fuel the creative in you
I recently had a conversation with a friend about my creative side. To friends I am known as the guy who love to cook, for himself, for the family , and for his friends. Lesser known is the fact that I have discovered that my passion for writing has also been growing. I now try to put in a few quality hours per week practicing my writing skills. Here is what I came up with this early Sunday morning, my praise for Medium.com.
I see Medium.com as a two way street. One direction is an avenue for my own personal writing expression. The other, is for consuming what other talented authors have shared with the world. Medium.com is my favorite, personal on-line publishing outlet where I can pen content on a variety of thoughts and topics. This is a cathartic space that allows me to decompress,. It gives me time to regain some much needed life-work balance. Writing helps me escape for a bit into a different world, put aside worries and focus on keyboard that wants to speak to me first, and you second.
I written about some many topics. I have yet to become a specialist that tackles a single subject. My creative approach starts with a spark , and then it ignites , when needed , with a good dose of research , mental and spiritual preparation. My style and voice varies. Sometimes it will be highly relaxed. Other times, I will invoke an essayist style , reminiscing about old school days. I always try to make it fun, stress-free, a liberating experience.
Many experiences trigger my writing desire. Here are some examples. A trip to a great botanical garden in the Bronx has inspired me to write about Bears Dens and Water falls
Waterfalls and Bear Dens in ‘Da Bronx’
Surprises and wonders found when exploring the New York Botanical Gardens on very late summer day
I have written about crickets, anxiety and the need for better work-life balance. Inequality, consumerism, feminism , love and other social issues have made their way into my writing.
