A Road Trip of Love
When music connects the heart and soul
Spoiler Alert: I am about to get mushy on you. So all you testosterone driven hard-hearted dudes and strong-willed dudettes, put down your gender armor, repaint your customary facades with lighter, softer tones. Reflect with your hearts for a moment or two.
Note: Essay inspired by my muse and wife as we traveled across the Green Mountains of southern Vermont, in late Spring 2024.
With so many gloom and doom narratives capturing our attention, and so much reflection on the human tragedy and drama that is taking place across all continents, I thought instead that opening up on the purest of human emotions, Love, yes that emotion with a capital “L”, would help us all rekindle the happiness flame that for too long, has flickered close to extinction. This is in contrast to the flood of news that floods us with constant stream of negativity, toxic and addictive fodder for guaranteed sensationalism with reports focused on violence, on an aberrant world reality that is poised to celebrate and perhaps, even execute on plans of destructive revengefulness, furthering the condition of our divided national brotherhood. So instead, let’s celebrate and share thoughts about Love, the deepest sense of “Amore”, “Amour”, “Amor”, “Eros” (take your pick of Romance language) between a husband and wife, between life…
